I hear many people recommend hemorrhoid cream as a quick fix for their puffy eyes. But it is something you should steer away from.
Hemorrhoid cream mainly acts as an anti-inflammatory. Also containing steroids. Is that really something you want to put on your face? Especially when its been designed for another area?
You may be thinking that since Hemorrhoid cream works as an anti-inflammatory, it would be good for your puffy eyes that could be caused by allergies. Not the case. Hemorrhoid cream constricts blood vessels and may reduce swelling and puffiness temporarily, but it can also be damaging to your skin.
Because it’s an anti-inflammatory, hemorrhoid cream actually thins the skin, which can accentuate dark circles, eye wrinkles and other imperfections and signs of aging. When we get older, our skin gets thinner as the collagen and elastin break down. Younger-looking skin is firmer and fuller, which provides a thicker barrier to protect from free radical damage.
So, using hemorrhoid cream on your face is actually aging your skin further. More importantly, hemorrhoid cream is not designed or intended to be a cosmetic product. Drug companies indicate that using hemorroid cream on the face can cause harm, especially around the delicate eye area.
Be sure to stick with anti eye wrinkle products that are specifically designed for the eye area.
